A table by
the river.
Overlooking the meandering flow of the Water of Leith at Canonmills — seasonal, produce-led cooking and a drinks terrace over the water, in the heart of the city.
The setting
On the banks of what was once
Edinburgh’s most vital waterway.
A two-storey stone building on the edge of the Water of Leith, restored into a spacious and bright riverside restaurant — smoked oak, marble, antique maps of the old city, and windows that follow the river.
Downstairs, a room for the smaller, closer occasions. Outside, a drinks terrace over the flowing water — a view no other table in Edinburgh can offer.
A taste of the menu
The best of the season,
plated with care.
Modern Scottish cooking, led by the produce — sourced from local butchers, fishmongers and grocers, and changed with the seasons every month.
Menus change monthly, so these are a taste rather than a promise.
At the heart of the community
A river worth giving back to.
From every Water-of-Leith-inspired cocktail we pour, 50p goes to the Water of Leith Conservation Trust — care for the river that gives the room its view, poured one drink at a time.
“Overlooking the meandering flow of the Water of Leith at Canonmills, an exciting new dining experience awaits.” The Tollhouse
